CATALYSTS SURVEY

Dear Parents, Faculty and Students,

As we continue on our mission to continually enhance the DuPont Manual MST program, we would appreciate your help in better understanding our current strengths, weaknesses, and overall perception in the community. Please take the time to complete this short survey from the Catalyst Board about the DuPont Manual MST experience. The survey should take no more than 5-10 minutes to complete and is fully anonymous. All participants will be entered in a drawing to receive one of ten free DuPont Manual MST school car magnets when they complete the survey (1 per family).

SCIENCE FAIR JUDGES NEEDED

Last year we hosted about 250 students at the Regional Fair. The fair provided an excellent opportunity to showcase their research and passion for science. Participation in the Science Fair opens the doors for our students to work outside their curriculum, pick an area of interest, and conduct scientific inquiry to seek answers to their research questions.

Last year, we sent 15 students to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, PA. Additionally we also had 50 students who qualified to participate in the State Science Fair in Richmond, KY. Of the students we sent to Intel, we had several category winners and Special Prize awardees, and a Grand Prize winning team that won an all-expenses paid 2 week trip to China to participate in their Science Fair.

We are reaching out to you to request your support of our Fair by signing up a judge. The Regional Fair will be held on March 12th, 2016 at the University of Louisville. A software platform has been created to streamline the process of managing our Science Fair. Registration for judges is now open and you can register at https://dupontmanual.stemwizard.com/public_site/judge_register. You will also find answers to come commonly asked questions about science fair judging on this page.

If there are other enthusiastic supporters of Science and Technology in our community, that you would like to invite to our Fair, please feel free to send them the registration link. We hope to see you back at our Fair to support our budding scientists.

If you need any assistance with registration, please feel free to email Chitra Venkat at chitraandvenkat@gmail.com.

SCIENCE FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Please sign up to donate snacks to nourish our students throughout the day at the duPont Manual Regional Science Fair. There will be used in the snack area, open all day including lunch. Parent volunteers are also needed. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c044ea9ab28aa8-dupont1/
